Fiscal Responsibility

The national debt now stands at $9.3 trillion with the annual budget at $2.2 trillion. That means it would take over 4 ½ years to pay it off even if we never spent a single dollar on anything else. Yet, Congress is still insistent on attaching Pork Laden Bills to every piece of legislation that passes through its doors.

It is like selling their vote, to anyone, for anything, if it means more power for them back home. We must put the brakes on any new social programs until we get our fiscal house in order.

Your house cannot run on endless credits and neither can a great nation. We are being trapped by a service economy and lead into the exportation of our basic building skills to other nations. Our research and technology is leaving along with the deportation of our good paying jobs.

Our "Jack of all trades" mentality that was the hallmark of American ingenuity is disappearing because of our short lived opulence.

The dollar, for the first time is of less value than some foreign currencies. Because we have abandon the gold standard, the U.S. Treasury is flooding the world with useless paper currency that has no backing except for false promises made by the Federal Reserve Banking System. Worst yet, the Federal Reserve Banking system is not owned nor controlled by our own government.

The majority of our elected representatives do not have the slightest understanding of austerity, and those that do, don’t care. It is only the next election and living in their fantasy world that worries them.
