What do I need to do? What can I do?
First and foremost, become active in the closest TEA Party or Patriot group you can find. How do you find one? Ask around your community. Ask those you know to be conservatives. Check out the Internet. Check out TEA Party Patriots Groups. Look up your state and see if there is one close to you. If not, do not become discourage, nor give up. Further in this web site will be a host of materials to help you start a group and more. Do not feel that you have to start a group of patriots. I'd bet you will find one in short order, if you need our help, we will help you in the quest. Look for my personal contact information in the side columns.

The next thing we must do is replace all those in Congress that have subjected us to their rule rather then they being ruled by the limitations of the Constitution. For a majority of Americans, that would currently mean those that voted for ObamaCare/National Health Care. Next, we must remove those in the Senate that have done the same. The reason I mention, or single out the health care bill is because it is the most widely known, but the sad truth is that these same people have inflicted many more woes upon us, "we the people." Those things include Cap and Tax, under varies names, international laws and treaties to take away our right to bare arms, hate crime bills, patriot act issues, ask don't tell, etc. The reason for their actions should be obvious, as it was done in other countries to turn them into socialistic countries.

How do we evaluate candidates? What questions might we develop?

Here's some answers to those questions:
Take some time to find out about the candidates who are running for office. One method is "The 7-C's" to identify the best candidates - Character, Charisma, Credibility, Credentials, Content and Common Sense Conservative.

Examine the candidate’s Character and Charisma – how does he/she treat other people, how does he/she get along with others? Is this a person with whom YOU would want to work?

Examine the candidate’s Credibility and Credentials – what is his/her record? Is he/she trustworthy? Does he/she walk the talk?

What is the Content of the candidate’s campaign? Is he/she devoted to spreading his/her message of “Taxpayer first” solutions or is he/she spending more time attacking his/her opponent?

Is this candidate a Common Sense Conservative? Does he/she stand for the principles of our founding fathers - limited government, reasonable taxation and free markets? Is he/she willing to stand up for the American taxpayer over his/her ego and special interest groups?

These are critical and significant qualities which can qualify or disqualify a candidate. We urge you to get to know all of the candidates and put each one to The 7 ‘C’s test!

So, where do I find out some of this stuff?

Obviously, you have to do some work, but this is also where belonging to a Patriot group can save time and work, as many will share this information with you. Let me give you an example of the mistake America made voting for a candidate they took on empty words.

Next, you must continue to educate yourself to understand the full extent of what needs to be done to save ourselves from the fate of other world countries, such as Greece, Spain, France, Germany and others. We must understand that Socialism is nothing more than 'Communism Lite' that turns into full blown Communism. Are we willing to be like China, or Russia with no freedom of religion, state owned everything, a slave of the state? I think not! I also don't think we as a people wish to see the elitist of the country become more wealthy as we become more enslaved and more poor. The majority in office at both state and federal levels have a continuing effort to blindside us. We must be vigilant.

Government and Big Business Make Unusual Partners

In 2009, I attended the annual meeting of Chelco, my utility (power) company in Florida. The guest speaker was the president of a large company that provides wholesale power to local companies throughout the southeast.

He talked about the Cap and Trade bill and how it would apply a heavy tax on the users. He said if anyone had questions they could talk to him after his presentation. I took that opportunity and asked if his company and other utility companies would be lobbying Washington to prevent this type of legislation from occurring. "Oh no," he said. I was floored by the answer. Well, why not I asked. Well, you see, utility companies are governed (controlled) by the Federal government through the FTC (Federal Trade Commission). We are allowed to make a profit and our profit is tied to revenue. It does not matter how those revenues are generated. So, a mandated increase in cost is passed on to the consumer, (you and me) and the utility company automatically has an increase in profit. They are assured a percentage of profit per the amount of revenue that is generated. It's like this. Would you rather have 2% of $100 dollars or 2% of 100,000 dollars?

Through government regulation the consumer is placed at the bottom of the food chain while business and government collects more of your hard earned dollars.

The government knows how to hide taxes very easily in everyday utilities to taxes on labor. Imagine what a "Value Added Tax" will do to our life style. And still to come, the continuing efforts of the "Cap and Trade Bill" that will add more taxation and the loss of jobs. Did you know that the bill even outlines what must be in your house in order to sell it: e.g. how your windows and doors must be, heating and cooling system, insulation, roof, etc. If not, you cannot sell it. Think of such demands and what it would do to the housing market from then on. Control from the womb to the tomb it has been called. They are telling us we have no common sense and that government is the god of all things. As a side note, you would be surprised at the new taxes in the health care bill that don’t even have a thing to do with health care, such as on real estate.
