Rev. Gondek Rev. Joseph Adam Gondek is a Catholic priest ordained pre-Vatican II, May 25, 1937. This period of time was during the timeless sacrifice of the traditional Latin Mass. Joseph Gondek was born of immigrant Polish parents, Albert and Zofia Palka Gondek, on July 28, 1911. His parents raised eleven children, of which he was the oldest, on a farm during the Great Depression of 1929-33, when a bushel of potatoes sold for five cents and a cow sold for ten dollars. Like most all people of that era they knew what it was to be poor and hungry. Nevertheless they were proud to work hard, pay their debts and be independent. In Father Gondek's travels he saw abject poverty in countries like Mexico and Egypt and experienced not knowing where he could find shelter for the night.

During fifty-eight years of Catholic priesthood, Father Gondek dealt with the needs, problems, and sufferings of thousands of people. In his concern for social issues he worked with the government bureaucracy of HUD for fourteen years as chairman of the local housing commission and witnessed the utter waste and in-fighting that goes on when government tries to run things that belongs in the private sector or on the local level. In 1984, Fr. Gondek's work in the community was recognized when he was selected as Citizen of the Year by the local Lions Club.

His work and research was an act of love for God, country, and all humankind, especially the billions in need of love and compassion, throughout the world. His hope was to enlighten the world with a tiny ripple of love that could be multiplied millions of times with your assistance, one person at a time. These books cite the not just the corruption of a monetary system, but more importantly supply the method to rid the world of its grips.

Rev. Joseph A. Gondek, lived to be 100 years old and spent his final days of work and service in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. After retirement in 1991, he published three books, "Landlords of the World" in 1997; "A World Held Hostage by Debt: What Bankers Don't Want You to Know" in 2004; and "What's Going on Here: Celebrating Remembrance of Past Events and Thanksgiving for a Present Reality" in 2006.

He retired to his heavenly home on Sept. 13, 2011.
